If you are one those people with your nose to ground them I’m sure the name Bradd Marquis has to be on your radar around now if not you need to get on board the soul movement that is Bradd Marquis. This man has been building and forging a sound that is all of his own making soon after, Marquis’ indie mix tape, All Love, All the Time, dropped in 2006, opening more doors. Signed to a production company, it wasn’t long before Marquis was releasing his 2007 debut LP, Finding My Way (Quiet as Kept). Breaking through NYC airwaves with the regional R&B hit, “Radio,” Marquis booked Apollo Live and multiple guest spots on both BET’s 106 & Park and Showtime at the Apollo. Named Soul Singer of the Year by 106 & Park, Marquis landed the Soul Summer Tour and Budweiser Superfest tour where he travelled as the stable opening act for Jaheim, Tamia, India.Arie, Blue Magic, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Gordon Chambers, and Hal Linton. Marquis also toured as “Adam” in Oscar Brown Jr’s musical fable, In De Beginning’. Additionally, Marquis starred in videos and wrote music for artists in New Zealand where Finding My Way hit. Marquis lyrical prowess soon scored song placement on projects by Styles P, Ethical, Young Sid, and Sly and Robbie.
In 2009, Marquis independently released the FMW2.5 mix tape( this is how quality has to shine today). While Marquis Debut and mix tape told of his broken engagement, 2011’s Authentic was more introspective. Moody blues and torch ballad rich, Authentic was a raw, transparent portrait of a man struggling with hard decisions at life’s crossroads. Singing about broken families, lost love, and the roughness of the industry.

Check out his new album entitled THANK YOU which is available now the album is one of the highlights of 2013 and is easily being missed by those (so called RnB Soul specialist Djs and Bloggers of today) who my opinion ought to know better sorry I said it.One track that is simply burning up, my iPod right now is the single is the single LOVE WILL FIND A WAY (KILLER TUNE!! PEOPLE)and a real cool video to set this song off.2009 feel like a long time ago and yet the wait has been worth it seems this has only help to sharpen the man’s skills and unlike so many artist HIP HOP and Rnb/Soul music world who have fallen so desperately into a cliché of madness. Lyrically Bradd is very astute and thoughtful this gives his overall sound and vocal styling an edge over many artist who have fallen for cheap thrills and gimmicks to sell their music believing BAD PRESS and cheap lyrics with a banging video will do trick .When what soul requires right now is for it to be given back its SOUL and real meaning to be put back into it .Bradd is one artist that I can vouch for as doing exactly that. So please check him out.
“Today’s music is over-ego or over-sex. There isn’t a conversation of what went wrong, why people do what they do in relationships. Where are the songs saying we’re all still learning?” – Bradd Marquis
With independent soul music acts like this then I truly believe the art of soul music will continue to live on KEEP SETTING THE BENCHMARK BRADD.
THE MAN HAS A POINT
